James Joseph Holliday died on December 4, 2025 at Crestwood Nursing Home, Warren , RI after having received the Sacrament of Anointing just hours before.
He was the devoted husband of Odelia “Dee” Holliday and they were married for over 53 years.
Son of Charles L. and Blanche C. (Young) Holliday, Jim was born in Fall River, MA and spent his young life in North Tiverton, RI, a block away from his future wife. Jim was a graduate of De LaSalle Academy in Newport, RI and then earned his associates degree at Rhode Island School of Electronics, where he was employed at the Rhode Island Electric Protective Company (RIEP) from 1972-1991. Jim managed several Cumberland Farms stores throughout Aquidneck Island and worked as a tax preparer for H&R Block, New Bedford for many years.
In 1972, Jim became a resident of the town that he would grow to love so much, when he purchased his home at the center of Little Compton. Jim was happy to take care of his home and his property and could spend hours painting or gardening, planting or pruning. Throughout their years together, Jim and Dee were fortunate to have taken many trips and traveled to many different places.
A faithful parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Church, Jim was also an active and longtime member of the Knights of Columbus, Fr. Boehr Council and the Fr. Donahue Assembly, 4th Degree.
Survivors include his wife, Dee and his nephews Raymond Medeiros, Paul Medeiros (wife Jody), and grandnephew, Evan Medeiros and Grandniece, Eastyn Medeiros, of Warwick, RI.
Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, December 10, 2025, from 2:00 – 5:00PM at Fern Acres Funeral Home, 72 Willow Avenue, Little Compton, Rhode Island.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, Thursday, December 11, 2025, 10:00AM, at St Catherine of Siena Church, 74 Simmons Road, Little Compton, followed by interment at Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery, South of Commons Road, Little Compton.
