John Richard Silvia, Jr., born December 7, 1967, in Fall River, Massachusetts, passed away on April 26, 2026, at the age of 58 after a courageous battle with ALS. He was the beloved son of Margaret Silvia and the late John Richard Silvia.
A devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend, John is survived by his loving mother, Margaret Silvia; his sisters, Cheryl Mammone and her husband, Richard, and Lisa Alves and her husband, Michael; as well as his eight nieces and nephews and twelve great-nieces and nephews, all of whom he adored.
John was known for his dedication to family, love of music, and exceptional craftsmanship. He was a skilled master welder who spent many years working for various companies before finding his home at Highland Fence in Fall River. He took great pride in his work and was always willing to lend a hand to family and friends.
He had a lifelong passion for music and especially enjoyed playing the drums. He also cherished time spent in Little Compton, particularly at the beach, where he found peace and happiness.
His funeral will be held Thursday, May 14, 2026, 8:45-10:00AM, from Fern Acres Funeral Home, 72 Willow Avenue, Little Compton, RI followed by a graveside service at 10:30AM, Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery, South of Commons Road, Little Compton.
