Joseph D. Kralicky, 82, of Tiverton, RI passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Tuesday, July 2, 2024. Joe was born on June 4, 1942, in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Joseph S. “Smokey” Kralicky and Josephine (Niespodziana) Kralicky.
Joseph is survived by his wife Catherine (Cole) of 56 years, son Joseph and wife Christine, of Newtown, CT, son James of Warwick, RI, and 4 grandchildren, Joseph, Laura, Evan and Sophia, his sister JoAnne, her husband David of Columbus, OH, and their 4 children.
Joe received his business degree from Duquesne University in 1964 and went on to serve as an officer in the US Navy until 1968. He spent time as a Lieutenant onboard the USS Bayfield and was involved with landing and supporting US Marines and South Korean soldiers in Vietnam combat operations. He was very humble but proud of his service and was honored to serve his country.
Joe spent his post-Navy career as a banking executive, serving the public with kindness and compassion for over 35 years. During his career he furthered his education, achieving an MBA from Bryant College and a graduate degree from the Stonier Graduate School of Banking.
He was an avid bowler, golfer, walker and sports fan, who also loved skiing, his waving Terrible Towel and playing the ponies. He loved the outdoors and traveling the globe with Cathy, often cruising around Europe or the Caribbean. He could always be found sitting on the deck in the warm weather, enjoying the relaxing sounds of nature.
Joe will be remembered as a kind, honest and generous man who loved, and was proud of, his family. He will be missed dearly, and we won’t say goodbye, but instead, “take care” and “see you later”. #16
