It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Nancy (Butler) Mittleman on February 22, 2023 at the Hope Hospice Center in Providence.
Nancy was the loving mother of Ryan Mittleman and Heather (Mittleman) Lerner and mother-in-law of Steven Lerner. She was the daughter of the late Edward Butler and Joan (Salisbury) Butler. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren, Hannah, Sadie, and Morris Lerner. Nancy was the beloved sister of Joseph Butler, Mark and Cynthia Butler, John and Cathy Butler, Lee Ann and Jeff Olsen, Michael and the late Jean Butler and Beth and Tim Brassard. She also had many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
Nancy was born in Providence, Rhode Island. She lived in Toronto, Canada and then in Rhode Island for most of her life. She devoted her life to raising her children and to her family. Nancy loved cooking, festive holidays, any sort of craft, music, spending her summers at Prudence Island and gathering with her loved ones.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, February 25, 2023, at St. Raymonds Church, 1240 North Main Street, Providence, RI. Interment immediately following at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 550 Wampanoag Trail, Riverside, RI.
